Term Definition
Ylang Ylang
Pronounced “ee-lang ee-lang”, it has a sweet, rich and somewhat spicy aroma. Considered to be an aphrodisiac because it is simultaneously sedating as well as stimulating, Ylang Ylang is known for its unique calming abilities, and is especially useful when nervous tension, anger and anxiety are present. Often considered to have anti-depressant qualities, as an essential oil it can be quite soothing, and is excellent to use when relaxation is needed.

Yoga
Based on ancient Indian teaching, Yoga combines posture, breathing and stretching. There are 18 different paths (Hatha, Ashtanga, Bhakti, Sivanda etc) each with their own emphasis. Some are physically very demanding. Ask before you commit!

Yogassageâ„¢
This massage modality enhances the free and natural movements of the body through gentle, sustained stretching and applied pressure. Gentle vibration and energy work with the charkas, or energy centers, is integrated into a gracefully flowing sequence. Unique positioning with props is incorporated to facilitate myofascial stretching without strain. Yogassage has been compared to Thai massage on a table, and it blends elements from both the Eastern and Western cultures of bodywork.
